THE DARLING

Celebrating the bounty of the sea, rhythm of the seasons, and joy of savored moments shared daily.

Right on King Street in the historic district of Charleston, The Darling is the most charming oyster bar in the area. Our team designed around the historical charm of the 116 year old building.

From the street you can view the 12-seat oyster bar at the front of the space; acting as the Darling’s social foundation. As you move into the bar and dining space, you feel the references of oyster bars from previous eras. Banquettes were custom designed by our team, who felt inspired by ‘dad’s favorite, old sailboat’. The FF&E throughout the space was designed to inspire guests to dream of being out on the water.

We collaborated with some of the South’s best artisans — converting furniture, creating custom-forged bar fronts, and hand-blown glass light fixtures. All of our creative efforts and collaborations with local artists and a graphics team completed our vision for the delightful space.
